About Mr. Cohens

Fedrick D. Cohens is a product of the Georgetown County School District! A 1995 honor graduate of Choppee High School, Fedrick received a Bachelor of Arts degree in Elementary Education from Coastal Carolina University in 1999. He completed a Master of Education in Elementary Leadership and Supervision at The Citadel in 2004. He taught second and third grade at Pleasant Hill Elementary before becoming the assistant principal at Kensington Elementary in 2004. In 2005, he was named the principal at Kensington Elementary and served in this capacity until June 2014.

In July 2014, Mr. Cohens became the Director of Family Literacy and Early Childhood Education! In this position, he was fortunate to work with adults and young children; strengthening and building partnerships that would assist families in reaching their short and long term educational goals. This included working closely with private and public childcare centers as well as Headstart. He conducted parenting workshops for schools and participated in community-based programs as a representative of the school district.

In July, 2016, Mr. Cohens became an Executive Director. Currently, he works closely with elementary schools, early childhood programs, parenting, literacy, and community engagement. He is working towards an Ed.D. in Curriculum, Instruction, and Assessment!
