Birth Certificates

Most of the time we do NOT have copies of Birth Certificates.  Birth Certificates are the property of parents/guardians and are not considered a part of a permanent school record.

In order for our office to conduct a search for a copy of your Birth Certificate, you will need to complete a VITAL RECORDS REQUEST.

If a copy of your Birth Certificate is available, it will be sent to you.  If the record is not found, you will be issued a refund.

If you are currently attending a school in Georgetown County or attended school in Georgetown County less than four (4) years ago, you will need to contact the school you LAST ATTENDED for a copy of your Birth Certificate.

NOTE:  THE RELEASE OF ANY INFORMATION CONTAINED IN A STUDENT'S PERMANENT RECORD REQUIRES A SIGNED REQUEST FROM THE STUDENT.  PARENTS/GUARDIANS MAY NOT SIGN FOR A STUDENT'S RECORD IF THE STUDENT IS OVER THE AGE OF 18.  PARENTS/GUARDIANS MAY REQUEST A COPY OF THEIR CHILD'S RECORD IF THE STUDENT IS LESS THAN 18 YEARS OF AGE.  TELEPHONE CALLS WILL NOT RELEASE STUDENT RECORDS.
