Students Receive Influenza Vaccinations

The Georgetown County School Nurses in partnership with SCDHEC Nurses recently completed the school located influenza vaccination clinics in the Georgetown County School District. Approximately 900 students received the vaccination at their school site.
Each year, many South Carolina children get sick with the flu, and some suffer serious complications.
Children with chronic health problems such as asthma and diabetes are at especially high risk for developing complications from the flu.
We hope that through this partnership with SCDHEC and providing these on-site school located flu vaccination clinics, Georgetown County School District will help to prevent more children and their families from getting the flu.
