Students attend STEM Academy

News Image

Recently Georgetown County School District had 18 students from all four high schools participate in the 2015 GCSD STEM Academy. We had a great week, exposing them to career ideas in math and science as well as teaching them soft skills needed to be successful STEM employees and citizens. We visited the National Guard Armory, HGTC-Georgetown, Coastal Carolina University, HGTC-Conway, Boeing, IP, and the Georgetown Airport. We had speakers from Kelly Services and HGTC to work with our students during the week as well. Thank you to all community partners and supporters of this week, especially our Waccamaw Regional Workforce Advisor for her cooperation.
