Gilliard-Rice, Cohen attend conference

Georgetown County School District's Tina Gilliard-Rice and Claudia S. Cohen recently attended the National Association of Educational Office Professionals Conference in Buffalo, N.Y.

Gilliard-Rice was installed as the Elementary Council Chairman of the National Association of Educational Office Professionals. In this position, she will be in connection with all elementary educational office professionals within the National Association throughout the United States.

She is a member of the Georgetown County Association of Educational Office Professionals. Gilliard-Rice is also a member of the South Carolina Association of Educational Office Professionals where she serves as Area 15 Director which covers Georgetown and Horry counties. She also serves as chairman of the state’s Affiliates Committee.

Gilliard-Rice has been employed at Kensington Elementary School for the past 29 years. She has also worked at J.O.Y. School for more than 25 summers.

Cohen, secretary/bookkeeper at Carvers Bay Middle, has completed the Professional Standards Program through the National Association of Educational Office Professionals. She has earned the distinction of being a Nationally Certified Educational Office Employee. She was recognized at the national conference’s award’s ceremony.

Cohen is a member of the Georgetown County Association of Educational Office Employees and the South Carolina Association of Educational Office Employees where she serves as parliamentarian.
