On December 13 the Marcus Lattimore Foundation provided 25 Georgetown County youth severely impacted by the South Carolina flood with a shopping spree at Walmart. The 25 participating students ranged from ages 3 to 18 and are from the Andrews area which was one of the areas hit hardest by the natural disaster.

The participants arrived at the Walmart Superstore in Georgetown where they were given gift cards to spend on items of their choice as well as a pair of Under Armour athletic shoes. Foundation volunteers were available and helped the students navigate their way around the store. Walmart donated bags filled with additional gifts for the students.

“Some of these kids lost everything in the flood, and our hope was to bring them some happiness during a time that should be filled with joy,” said Marcus Lattimore. “It was incredible to spend time with these kids and see their faces light up as they filled their shopping carts. We hope that this will be a day they always remember.”

The Marcus Lattimore Foundation focuses on three pillars of commitment: Outreach, Life Skills and Sports Performance. The Foundation’s Outreach Program exists to address issues within low-income areas in the state of South Carolina and provide assistance to its residents through various outreach projects.
